RAILWAY CAR SHOP
Located at Heritage Park, the Railway Car Shop was built in 1992 to protect the vintage railcars from deteriorating in the harsh Alberta climate. This new proposed exterior will keep with the late 19th and early 20th century Canadian Pacific Railway car repair shop design while upgrading the buildings envelope.
The scope of this project is to upgrade the building by removing the buildings exterior and replace with a high-performance system along with upgrading the roof and providing an addition to the mechanical room to support the new mechanical heating and humidity systems. This will not only help preserve the railcars but also provide a comfortable space for them to be showcased to the public visiting the park.
