The Innovation Crossing is a year-round interpretive space that has been designed to blend seamlessly with the existing historical vernacular of the park. This low carbon project will incorporate numerous “green” technologies in subtle ways; such as solar photovoltaic, earth tubes, passive ventilation, hydronic heating, a biomass furnace, and double stud wall assemblies which the park’s 620,000 annual visitors will be able to learn from, experience and interact with. The Centre’s interactive and engaging programming will allow students and visitors to explore Alberta’s use of natural resources and how current Albertans are embracing new technologies to ensure the province evolves and sets an example of environmental stewardship for future generations.
